Description

Caramelized Pear and Blue Cheese Salad blends warm honey-lemon pears with tangy blue cheese, toasted walnuts, and peppery arugula for a beautifully balanced dish—perfect for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner.

Ingredients

• 2–3 pears, unpeeled, cored, and sliced

• 2 tablespoons lemon juice

• 2 tablespoons honey

• 30g unsalted butter

• 2 handfuls arugula (or spring mix)

• 100g crumbled blue cheese (Gorgonzola or Roquefort)

• 30g chopped walnuts, toasted

Instructions

1. Slice the unpeeled pears and toss with lemon juice and honey in a bowl.

2. Heat a dry non-stick pan over medium heat and toast the chopped walnuts for 3–4 minutes until fragrant. Set aside.

3. In the same pan, melt the butter. Add the pears and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until softened and caramelized.

4. Arrange the arugula on serving plates. Top with warm pears, crumbled blue cheese, and toasted walnuts.

5. Serve immediately while the pears are warm and cheese begins to soften.

Notes

– Use firm-ripe pears like Bosc or Anjou to hold shape during cooking.

– Maple syrup can be used in place of honey.

– Pecans can replace walnuts, or skip for a nut-free version.

– To make it vegan, use plant-based butter and cheese.

– Avoid storing fully assembled salad; keep components separate for best freshness.
