Description

Tomato Basil Garlic Bread is a fresh and fast appetizer featuring crusty baguette topped with juicy tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, basil, and Parmesan. Perfect for summer meals or cozy dinners — ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

• 1 large baguette or Italian loaf

• 3 ripe tomatoes, finely diced

• 4 cloves garlic, minced

• 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

• 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

• 1/4 cup olive oil

• 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.

2. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place it cut-side up on the baking sheet.

3. In a bowl, combine tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Stir well.

4. Brush the bread lightly with olive oil and toast it in the oven for 5–7 minutes.

5. Remove from oven and evenly spoon the tomato mixture over the toasted bread.

6. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top if using.

7. Return to oven for 8–10 minutes, until the tomatoes soften and edges are golden.

8. Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

– Use day-old baguette for crispier texture.

– Strain tomatoes if too watery to avoid soggy bread.

– Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.

– Substitute Parmesan with feta or goat cheese if desired.

– Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in oven for best texture.
